Kalona Creamery opened its doors on January 19, 2017. This building, formerly the Kalona cheese factory, was a well-known local establishment that closed in late 2014. Bill Evans, CEO and founder of the Open Gates Business Development Corporation, purchased the old cheese factory with hopes to continue to build on the legacy. Kalona Creamery, located on Highway 1 outside Kalona, Iowa, features numerous products made in Iowa including cheese curds, specialty meats and cheeses, pastries, and much more!
