Zihlman Orchard

Zihlman Orchard is a 5-acre orchard located on Yew Avenue, just south of Highway 78 between Brighton and Coppock, Iowa in Jefferson Country. We started the orchard in 2014 by planting 400 trees and shrubs. Chinese chestnuts, hazelnuts, Iowa persimmons, and pawpaw is what we began with. In the last three years, we have also grown pumpkins, melons, and winter squash. We use all organic practices, no spraying of any chemicals. We do graze sheep during the spring and summer in our orchard. All of our crops are harvested starting in early September through early November.
